  • New AI integration: Using the new LIA chat assistant (available via the web interface and in the LOGINventory Management Center), you can ask questions about your LOGINventory database through a chat (e.g. “Show me my Windows 11 devices!“, “Which Windows devices don’t have 7-Zip installed?“, “Which devices belong to John Doe?“) as well as about the documentation (e.g. “How do I publish the Web Viewer?“, “How do I retrieve warranty data?“). The chat can also be used to set properties and lifecycle entries on assets, archive or delete devices, and create queries. More information on the new AI integration here.

  • New Web interface facelift and feature enhancements:
    • Creating assets is now available via the web.
    • Asset detail page: MAC address table for switches now viewable.
    • In the Web Viewer, dashboards are no longer visible only as their own nodes, but also when pinned as the view for a folder.
      Tip: Pinning a dashboard to the Asset Management node displays it directly when the web console is opened (instead of an empty folder view).
    • New option to generate dashboard links (without displaying the tree structure), ideal for sharing with other people (provided they have been granted permission to view the dashboard).
    • Dark mode available.
    • When creating lifecycle entries (including issue / return), you can now create a new user, e.g. when issuing a device to a person without an AD account.
    • Navigation bar.
    • Various UI adjustments.
  • New Manual user creation now possible via the LOGINventory Management Center and in the web: e.g. when devices are to be assigned to external people who don’t have an AD account. More on this here.
  • New Remote scanner with full Kerberos support:
    By default, Negotiate is now used instead of NTLM for discovering Windows devices. However, since only NTLM can be used when connecting to an IP address, for an IP scan, the remote scan now attempts by default to first determine the associated FQDN and establish a Kerberos connection to it. This is only possible if there are no invalid / conflicting entries in DNS. If FQDN resolution fails, the IP address is still used as a fallback, which requires an NTLM connection.
    Converting the IP address into an FQDN can be prevented via the command-line parameter //DontResolveIpToFqdn 1. In addition, the fallback to FQDN can be blocked via the command-line parameter //BlockNTLM 1.
    The parameters //Authentication Kerberos and //Authentication NTLM, introduced with version 2025.2, should no longer be used, as they only cover part of the new authentication process and therefore no longer produce the expected result.

  • New Tree structure synchronization & reload: When several users work with LOGINventory, it’s no longer necessary to restart LOGINventory completely to see changes to queries / folders in the tree structure. Instead, it’s enough to reload the relevant part of the tree (or the whole tree) via the right-click menu.
  • New Topology: Instead of the logical port number, connections can now display the interface type as a label. This is especially helpful with stacked switches.
  • New Settings: New option to disable the initial setting of a device’s owner during first discovery.
  • New Sending mail via tasks: Multiple recipients can now be specified.
  • Various new icons in the Resource Repository, so they can be set as icons for queries.
  • Dashboard editor: Full support for custom properties. Using custom properties in the dashboard editor no longer causes an error, and the preview already shows how the data will be displayed.
  • High DPI mode (screen zoom > 100% enabled): If no other column widths have been defined, all column widths are set to “Optimal column width”.
  • Dashboards: Dashboards “pinned as a view” are now shown in preference to information pages in the Management Center. This means the standard info pages (e.g. on the “Asset Management” node) can now be replaced with a dashboard.
  • Switch discovery via SNMP: Improvements to determining the MAC address table, VLANs, and processing of LLDP information.
  • ESXi discovery: When reading VM information, the operating system name for running VMs is now determined from the value set by VMware Tools. Previously, this was always the manually adjustable value from the VMware Console.
  • SQL Server: Version detection improved.
  • Linux discovery:
    • Further improved detection of the name and VRAM of installed graphics card(s).
    • Improved error handling for UUID2 detection.
  • Info widget: Fixed a refresh issue with the description text on assets.
  • Data cleanup: Increased reliability when applying settings changes.
  • The “Create filtered query” function now explicitly selects columns instead of just the base table.
  • Setup now includes SQL Server 2025 Express Edition (instead of 2019).
  • AD discovery: Increased reliability when determining group memberships.
  • Web Viewer: UTC time conversion now always correct.
  • Deleting assets: When the “Restrict deleting assets to administrators” setting is enabled, power users can no longer delete assets via the “Remove” action from the right-click menu in the tree structure.
  • License management: Visual Studio 2026 and SQL Server 2025 now also appear under “Detected products”.
  • Fixed a bug that caused duplicate “HardwareProduct” entries to be created (e.g. when converting monitor information into peripheral devices). Please refer to this helpdesk article, which describes how to check whether your database has duplicates here and what you can do to resolve this issue.
  • Security improvements to the agentless scan.
