LOGINventory Version 9.7.0

Build 16769 (31.07.2024):

  • New Reading out docking station information: Model, serial number, and firmware of the connected docking station can now be read out on Windows laptops. Please refer to the instructions in the manual to find out which drivers need to be installed on the laptop!
  • New Docking station information and hard disk information can be used to directly create peripheral devices in LOGINventory (analogous to monitor information).
  • New New entity “Firewall”: For the three firewall profiles “Public”, “Private” and “Domain”, it is determined for Windows devices whether the firewall is activated or deactivated in each case.
  • New For assets created manually / imported via csv import, the serial number is used as the identification criterion (sole fingerprint feature). This means that an asset can already be created in LOGINventory for devices that are still in the inflow (“pre-staging“). If a device with the same serial number is then recognized during a later scan, the information is merged – it is no longer necessary to change the name of the asset before the first entry. More information on this in the manual.
  • New License Management:
    • Compound products: Combining several products with any metric into a “compound product”.
    • Separate dialog for storing licenses without having to define corresponding products beforehand.
  • New More values read from virtual machines (VM guests) during VMware / Hyper-V scan:
    • HWVersion
    • Tags (VMware only)
    • Generation (Hyper-V only)
    • ToolsVersion (VMware only)
    • DnsHostname of VM (VMware only)
  • New New setting to prevent users with the “Guest” role from double-clicking on assets to view the details. This allows you to specify that guests can only access the data that is part of the query that has been shared with the user.
    To activate this setting, the following part must be added to the LOGINventory.config file (located at C:\ProgramData\Login\LOGINventory\9.0):

    <setting name="HideDetailsForGuests">
            <value>true</value>
    </setting>

LOGINventory Version 9.6.0

New With version 9.6, LOGINventory receives a major web update. Many new functions are now available on the asset details page after scanning a QR code, such as taking photos, documenting the transfer of multiple assets simultaneously or creating general lifecycle entries. User details can now also be viewed on the new User Details page on the web. This page can also be used as a self-service portal by any user to track which assets have been assigned to them and when. We present all the new features here.
