LOGINventory Version 2025.2

Build 9.10.18183 (11/06/2025):

  • New Integration of the Vulnerability Assessment by Cyber Insight. More details can also be found in the manual.
  • New Negotiate / Kerberos Support: When inventorying Windows devices, not only NTLM but also Kerberos is now used. By default, NTLM authentication is still attempted first; if it fails, there is a fallback to Kerberos. The new command-line parameters //Authentication Kerberos and //Authentication NTLM allow enforcing the use of a specific method without fallback.
  • Offline Agent: Version 9.5: Improved behavior during self-update: Preventing automatic reboots. Note: This change will only apply to future updates (e.g., to Offline Agent Version 9.6).
  • Portable Version: Improvements in determining the paths to be copied: Increased reliability when accessing via the command line.
  • Custom Properties: The add icon in the management interface of custom properties is now always visible.
  • Data View: Deleting and archiving assets no longer causes the current table view to jump to the top – the scroll position is retained. Read More

Build 9.9.1.17804 (06/03/2025):

LOGINventory Version 2025.1

New versioning: A display version has been introduced for version numbers to make it easier to read the current version. The technical version 9.9.0 corresponds to display version 2025.1. No new license is required.

Build 9.9.0.17737 (05/23/2025):

  • New Management of Items: It is now possible to create general objects in the Item table (derived from HardwareAsset). These, like peripheral devices, require a license for add-on assets. This allows items such as tables, chairs, keys, cars, chip cards, etc., to be managed in LOGINventory. More information can be found in this blog post.
  • New Mail Sending: Support for OAuth2.0 for Online Exchange Server. SMTP support for Online Exchange Server will be discontinued in mid-2025. It is recommended to switch to OAuth2.0 now!
  • Portable Version:
    • New New Self-Update Mechanism: When the portable version is released, a “LOGINventory-Portable.exe” is now always included in the directory. Using this executable significantly improves startup speed and includes a self-update mechanism. More details can be found in the manual.
    • New Breaking Change Remote Scanner Available: Users with the “Administrator” role can now control the remote scanner on the server from the portable version as well.
  • New Web interface now uses logo and corporate style colors stored in the settings, if the corresponding checkbox is enabled.
  • Custom Properties:
    • New A third option is now available to determine who can edit properties. Previously, it had to be specified whether these could be edited by the scanner or by the user in the interface. With the new “All” option, custom properties can now be edited by both the scanner and the user. For example, the “Location” of a device can be pre-filled during the first scan. If the device is handed over to a location that cannot be automatically scanned, the “Location” can now still be changed by the user.
    • New In the “Category” field, specifying #<CUSTOMTYPE> ensures that a custom property is only visible in the widget if it matches the custom type of the asset. For example, for assets with CustomType = Headset, only properties with Category = #Headset are displayed.
  • New High DPI Support: On displays with more than 96 dpi (e.g., when screen zoom is enabled), text rendering is no longer just enlarged and blurred but natively displayed in a higher font size.
  • Breaking Change Change History for AD Data: The entry behavior for AD data has been changed so that not only new records are added, but, for example, for groups, it is now visible in the history which users are no longer members.
Note: The change history for the entities AdGroup, UserAccount & ComputerAccount must be activated in the settings if necessary!
There is also a new data cleanup option that deletes AD data not included in more recent AD scans. This cleanup is not activated by the update and must (if desired) be enabled in the settings. More details on this topic can be found here in the KB article.
  • Breaking Change Linked Documents: When adding documents from the same storage location as an already added document, the existing one is no longer overwritten, but a new one is always added. A new option to replace a previously stored document is now available. Read More
