\nMany companies already manage far more than just IT Equipment<\/strong> \u2013 but until now, LOGINventory was limited to exactly that. With version 2025.1<\/strong>, we\u2019re opening the system to a wide range of additional use cases<\/strong>: from office chairs and key cards to tools: You can now record, track, and manage every item digitally, in a structured and auditable manner.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Item Management<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

With version 2025.1<\/strong><\/a>, LOGINventory extends its functionality: From now on, you can manage not only IT assets<\/a>, but also general items<\/strong> \u2013 and fully document check-outs and returns<\/strong>, just as many of our customers have requested. In doing so, LOGINventory now fulfills the role of a full Enterprise Asset Management solution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All of the options previously available for peripheral devices<\/a> are now available for the new \u201cItem\u201d add-on asset type: items can be created manually<\/strong>, imported from CSV files<\/strong>, or generated via the REST API<\/strong>. Because the data model is freely extensible through the \u201cCustom Properties\u201d widget, any attributes can be defined<\/strong>. Items can be assigned to users<\/strong>, QR-code labels<\/strong> can be generated, transfers can be digitally documented<\/strong>, and items can be analyzed in queries, dashboards, reports, and dynamic documents<\/strong>. Of course, lifecycle entries<\/strong> and attachments can also be stored against items in LOGINventory.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Adding items<\/h3>\n

New items \u2013 whether vehicles, furniture, machinery, keys, or plants \u2013 can be created directly in the Asset Editor, imported from CSV files, or automated via the REST API. You can capture all relevant Details<\/strong> \u2013 such as name, type, manufacturer, model, dimensions, or serial number \u2013 including any custom-defined fields<\/strong> like purchase price, color, weight, lease duration, or any other attribute your item may require.<\/p>\n

Tip: Assign a value to \u201cCustomType<\/strong>\u201d that corresponds to an icon in the Resource Repository (or upload your own icons). The matching symbol will then be displayed throughout LOGINventory (for example, in the Info Widget<\/a> or the Web Viewer<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Inventory Number Generation<\/h3>\n

Each asset is automatically assigned a unique inventory number that serves as its digital identifier for asset tracking<\/strong>. When the corresponding checkbox is selected, the inventory number is generated automatically, and you can freely customize the naming pattern to suit your requirements. This inventory number also underpins the creation of a unique link to the asset \u2013 ideal for facilitating check-outs or returns via QR code.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

QR Code Label Generation<\/h3>\n

If desired, LOGINventory can generate printable QR code labels for each physical item<\/strong> at the click of a button. These labels can be customized in various Layouts \u2013 including your company logo, text snippets, or any bespoke details. Since it\u2019s not always practical to affix a label to every item, the QR code is optional for documenting transfers via smartphone. You can also locate items in the web interface using criteria such as name or serial number.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Document Hand Out & Return via Smartphone<\/h3>\n

By scanning the QR code<\/strong>, users are taken straight to the asset detail page in the LOGINventory web interface. There, any asset can be checked out or returned with a single tap \u2013 right in a smartphone or tablet browser, no extra app required<\/strong>. During the process:<\/p>\n
